Ms Hattie Buckhannon

Ms. Hattie Jean “Brown” Buckhannon, daughter of the late M.E. Brown and Susie Robinson Brown was born on May 24, 1936 in Eclectic, Alabama. She attended Elmore County Public School and was a graduate of R.R Moton High School. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Chapel United Methodist Church, Eclectic, Alabama, where she was a dedicated member. Ms. Buckhannon was active member of Cedar Grove Chapter 47 Order of Eastern Star and Violet Court #78 Heroines of Jericho. She retired from J.S. Tarwater, Wetumpka, Alabama after many years of service. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of those who knew her. Hattie loved spending time with her family and friends. The memories that have been created will now be cherished by those she leaves behind. She preceded in death by her parents, M.E. Brown and Susie Robinson Brown, five sisters, Ruby Lee Martin, Jessie Brown, Susie Mae DeJarnett, Catherine Franks, and Dorothy Brown. She quietly departed this life on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Shelby County Medical Center, Alabaster, Alabama. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her loving and devoted son and daughter, Calvin Buckhannon, Pleasant Grove, Alabama and Willa (Calvin) Wilson, Wetumpka, Alabama; two brothers, Charlie Brown, Eclectic, Alabama and John D. Brown, Birmingham, Alabama; two sisters, Lottie Brady, Cincinnati, Ohio and Ora Dean Brown, Eclectic, Alabama; six grand children, Tracy Buckhannon, JaJuan Wilson, and Crystal Wilson all of Eclectic, Alabama, LaWanda Wilson, Wetumpka, Alabama, Niurca (Jason) Lockhart, Alabaster, Alabama, and Quinton Buckhannon, Tallassee, Alabama; six great grandchildren, Teresia Buckhannon and Traci Buckhannon, both of Eclectic, Alabama, Jordan Wilson, Wetumpka, Alabama, Kamari Buckhannon, Tallassee, Alabama, Braedyn Lockhart and Bella Lockhart, both of Alabaster, Alabama; one great great grandchild, Rishon Hicks, Eclectic, Alabama; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
