J C Marshall

J. C. Marshall 86, a resident of Elmore County transitioned December 21, 2022, Funeral service will be Dec. 28, 2022, at Sweetwater Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00p.m. burial to follow in Churchyard cemetery. Mr. J. C. Marshall was born October 5, 1936, to the late Solomon Marshall and Luvernia Marshall. He was well known in the community as well as the surrounding areas as the cement man, and concrete finisher. When he was no longer able to do jobs himself, he became a great helper in overseeing others, making sure the job was done correctly. He grew up going to Assembly Church of God, Wetumpka, Al. Later in his life, he was baptized and joined the Sweetwater Baptist Church, Wetumpka, Al, where he went faithfully until his health declined. He would always make sure they had what they needed for special occasions. J.C. was the third or sixteen siblings. Six preceded him in death, four brother: Thomas, Willie C, Bobby and George Marshall, two sisters: Edna Beddingfield, and Warcile Marshall. J. C. was united in holy matrimony to Gussie Marshall July 5,1950, to this union seven children were born. Three of which preceded him in death, K.C., Patty Sherry, and Martha. He leaves to continue to share his memories his wife of seventy years: Gussie Marshall of Millbrook, Al, two daughters: Mary Marshall, Millbrook, Al, and JoAnne Jordon, Detroit, Mich., two sons: Woodrow (Beverly) Marshall, Alexander, City, Al, and Kenny Marshall, Montgomery, Al. four sisters: Mary Edwards Detroit, Mich., Voncille Rawls, Bertha Marshall, and Grace Lykes, Wetumpka, Al. five brothers: David Marshall, Rochester Hills, Mich., Rev. Billy (Alice) Marshall, and Leroy Marshall, Montgomery, Al, James and Leon (Marilyn) Marshall, Wetumpka, Al, five sisters in laws, one brother in law, four grandchildren: Marcus, Briana, Ashley, and Nakia Seven great grandchildren: JaMarcus, Kylon, Brayden, Preston, Jr, Tyler, Ashlyn, and Ariel, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A very special friend whom he would speak on the phone with quite often Raymond Thomas “Koonie”. On behalf of the Marshall family, we would like to thank the Wetumpka Rehabilitation Facility, the Montgomery Cancer Center, Dr. S. Davidson, Inhabit Home Health and Hospice Care Facility and their staff for a great job in helping to care for Mr. J.C. Marshall.
