Annie Mae Martin

Annie Mae Martin, age 79, a resident of Wetumpka AL, transitioned Tuesday November 1,2022. Her funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Eunice M. Mitchell Memorial Chapel ,3274 Central Plank Road, Wetumpka, Al 36092. Burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Hillside staff directing. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her kind spirit, stylish flair and charm beyond measure. During her illness she never forgot who her loved ones were. Annie Mae’s sophisticated poise yet down-to-earth manner drew in all of those in her orbit. She was married for 45 years until she became divorced. During her time of marriage, she bore 9 children, 25 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, a host of other grandchildren and nieces/ nephews. Annie was born in Elmore County on 15 August 1943. She lived in Birmingham, AL for most of her childhood and teenage years. She attended school in the Birmingham School System. She joined Trinity Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL at an early age. Annie resided her church home at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Wetumpka, AL. She cared for God’s world as a devoted gardener and appreciated all creatures great and small that she encountered. Annie Mae was preceded in death by her daughter; Aretha Martin, her grandson; Tavonta Austin; her parents Mary Montgomery adopted mother Holstine Brown & OD Edwards Sr. her sister; Tina Lee Lovejoy, her brothers; OD Edwards Jr., Nathaniel Edwards Murrell, Augusta Edwards; and Isiah Edwards. one Aunt Rachel Montgomery Brown Cincinnati, Ohio 1 niece; Barbara Robinson; four special friends who also preceded in death Fannie Mae Crawford Carroll; Dave Anna Duncan Ashley, Dean Hale, & Louise Hamilton all of Wetumpka, AL She was survived by her beloved children; Epatha Martin Nolen Wetumpka, AL, Veronica (Lloyd) Pitts Wetumpka, AL, Patrick (Tundra) Martin Wetumpka, AL, Vikie Martin Wetumpka, AL, Timothy (Jennetta) Martin Wetumpka, AL, Annie Martin Jackson Montgomery, AL, Ronita (Vencent) Gilbert Fort Rucker, AL, Tijwana Alexander Prattville, AL She also survived by her brother Willie Edwards Sr. Birmingham, AL Special Cousin, Dorothy Jackson Wetumpka , AL Two cousin/ God son Jerry Crawford and Jerriel Crawford, Wetumpka, AL Very Special Long Time Friends Mary Ethel Swindle Wetumpka, Dean Mitchell Wetumpka, AL, Janice Bozeman Wetumpka, AL Very Special Caregiver Melinda (Lynn)Ross Wetumpka, AL Two special neighbors; Jackie Humphrey & Brenda Bozeman; Margaret Dewhart Wetumpka, AL Special thanks to Ivy Creek Hospice Care
