    Mrs. Mattie Smith

    January 31, 1921 - July 14, 2017

    Mrs. Mattie Ruth Smith was born in Elmore County January 31, 1921 to the Late Mr. Charlie Roscoe and Mrs. Katie Odell Purter. She accepted Christ at an early age and later became a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an active member on the usher board and as well as a member of the church choir for many years. She was also a former member of the Easter star. She is preceded in death by two daughters; Mattie Smith, Odell Taylor. One son Loveless "LZ" Purter, one son in law; James Taylor. One grandson Otto Taylor, one great granddaughter "Rabbit". Three sisters and five brothers. On September 24, 1956 she was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie O. Smith Jr.. She departed this life on Friday, July 14, 2017 at her residence. She leaves to cherish one daughter Vanessa T. Smith, two son's Willie O Smith and a devoted son Winston, S. Smith as well as a devoted daughter in law Lorene Smith, all of Eclectic, Alabama. A devoted granddaughter Stacy Kendrick of Eclectic, Alabama. Twelve (12) grandchildren, Sixteen (16) great grandchildren, Fifteen (15) great great grandchildren, one (1) great great great grandchild, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
