Emma Lou Jackson

Emma Lou Jackson, a beloved daughter, wife, and mother was born in Elmore County, Alabama, on May 19, 1952, to Mrs. Carrie Bell Roberts and Mr. Charlie Green Roberts She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Doby High School in Elmore County, Class of 1970. In 1983, she embarked on her career in janitorial services with the Elmore County Board of Education at Holtville Elementary School until retirement in 2013. Additionally, she served as a youth Sunday School teacher for over 10 years at Liberty Hill Baptist Church of Wetumpka, AL. On November 25, 1981, Robert and Emma L. Gibbons united in marriage, beginning a journey together. On May 6, 2025, the Lord called Emma Lou Jackson to come home. She is preceded in death by her father Mr. Charlie Roberts, mother Mrs. Carrie Roberts; siblings: Nelson Roberts, Willie Roberts, and husband Robert Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Willie (Paulette) Gibbons Jr., Selena Gibbons of Wetumpka, AL, Tyree Gibbons of Mobile, AL, Melissa Gibbons of Wetumpka, AL, and Alisha (Cedric) Singletary of Wichita Falls, TX, Two bonus sons Derrick Jackson of Hope Mills, NC, Terrance (Kirsten) Jackson of Suffolk, VA; eleven grandchildren, Deidra Jackson of Jacksonville, NC; Cheryl (Octavius) Lucas, Delisea (Paul) Nicholson Portsmouth, VA, O’Neal Smoke, Tyrone Lovejoy Jr, Whitney Gibbons and Malcolm Gibbons of Wetumpka, AL. Derrick Jackson, Jr. and Lalia Jackson of Suffolk, VA, Andrea Jackson of Charlotte, NC, Emmanuel Singletary, Hannah Singletary, and Elijah Singletary of Wichita Falls, TX; six great-grandchildren, DaQuan Pierson, Tahiry McCall, and Caydence Lucas of Wetumpka, AL, Michela Dunn of Jacksonville, NC and Aubree Jackson of Hope Mills, NC. Siblings: Charlie Roberts, Jr. of Wetumpka, AL, Minnie (Arthur) Jordan and Pauline (Terry) Mason of Atlanta, Georgia. Special friends Luvorn Johnson Lucas, Edith Bozeman and neighbor Jennifer Long of Wetumpka, AL, a special niece, Carolee Cooper of Powder Springs, GA and a special nephew, LaGunda “Man” Cooper of Middleton, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
