Hattie Ivey

Hattie Ivey, better known to most of her relatives as Hattie Bell, Lillie Ruth, Carolyn Jean, Floyd Russell, was born on July 28, 1936, to the late Curtis and Geneva Levelle Floyd in Elmore County, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Wetumpka, AL. She united in Holy Matrimony in 1953 to Weogufka Russell, who preceded her in death. To their union, seven children were born. She was later united in Holy Matrimony in 1997 to Robert Cheatham, who also preceded her in death. To their union, four adult children were added. At the age of 72, she was united in Holy Matrimony in 2008 to Willie Arthur Ivey, who also preceded her in death. To their union, three adult children were added. Our Mother was a giver to those in need. She loved and honored her Pastors, Pastor Eddie & Lady Kara Harris of Greater Faith Outreach Church. She entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the age of 88 years old. Hattie was preceded in death by her siblings Sarah Lee Harris and Richard Curtis Floyd, her daughter Mary Russell Ambers, and her son-in-law Carl Ross Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Sarah Russell Ross of Prattville, AL, Mellonie Russell of Wetumpka, AL, and Cheryl (Terry) Russell Boyd of Montgomery, AL; three sons: Richard (Kathleen) Russell of Wetumpka, AL, Kenneth Russell, and Ronald (Donna) Russell, both of Montgomery, AL; five stepdaughters: Sanjanetta (Michael) Henderson, Sonja Avery, Barbara (Johnny) Chaney, Arthur Mae Jones, all of Montgomery, AL, and Carolyn (Michael) Wilson of Pelham, AL; and two stepsons: Albert (Marion) Giles and Willie Arthur Ivey Jr., both of Montgomery, AL. Additionally, she is survived by two sons-in-law: William Ambers Jr. and Terry Boyd, both of Montgomery, AL. She also leaves behind 28 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, 6 nephews, a devoted friend, Earnestine Cooper, and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Eunice M. Mitchell Memorial & Chapel (Hillside), 3274 Central Plank Road, Wetumpka, Alabama. Viewing will take place on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the same location. Interment and repast will follow at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2167 Mt. Zion Road, Wetumpka, Alabama. Hillside Memorial & Gardens Directing.
