Deacon Printicen Smith

Deacon Printicen Smith, age 84, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama passed on July 30, 2021 at Jackson Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Gods Congregation Church in Tallassee, Alabama August 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Hillside Memorial & Gardens directing. DDeacon Printicen Smith was born June 22,1937 in Idabel Oklahoma to the late Isaiah and Allie Smith. He graduated from Lemoore High school in Lemoore California where he was an all-around athlete and honor roll student. He accepted Christ at an early age. He later rededicated his life back to Christ under the leadership of Bishop Adolphus Gauntt at Gods Congregation Holiness Church in Tallassee, AL. He served many positions in the church. He was a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and trustee. He was a man of faith, he believed in studying the word of God and he also believed that a family that prays together stays together. At the age of 23, he enlisted into the US military where he served in the Army. After he served his country, he resided in Riverside, CA where he worked for the city. He was employed for over 25 years and retired as a Bus operator for the Rapid Transit District in Los Angeles, CA. In 1995, he moved to Tallassee, Al where he drove the bus for Greyhound and Auburn University. For 10 years he drove for Tallassee city school where he finally retired. His main goal in life was working hard and providing for his family. He enjoyed farming, fishing, camping, hunting, softball, playing the harmonica, and listening to vintage gospel. He would give you a run in a game of dominoes and make sure he was the last one standing in Phase 10. If you had $20 in change, he would want to give you a $20 bill for it, that is how much he loved collecting change. He was very humorous and guaranteed to make you laugh. In 1973 he married Celestine Driscol in Compton, Ca and later resided in Carson, CA. She was a devoted wife for 47 years and together they did a phenomenal job raising two generations. He is proceeded in death by his parents Isaiah and Allie Smith, Daughter Lorraine Smith, (Brothers) Lee, David, Glenn, Johnny and Isaiah Smith Jr; (Sisters) Lee Helen Smith, Alice Jean Richardson, Willie Jean Pruitt. He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife Celestine Smith, two sons Victor and Printicen Smith Jr (both of Arizona), a special loved one Brenda Smith (California), (Grandchildren) Leslie Jerome (Whitney), Anthony, Staci, Leonardo, Brian Smith (All of Alabama) and Briana (Jesus’) Smith (Of Georgia); (Great Grandchildren) Javien, Jaslyn, and Jaxdon Smith (All of Alabama); (Brothers) Pastor Oratio, Lance (Susie), Elder Clussie (Juanita) and Elder Rudy (Bonnie) Smith; (Sisters) Missionary Myrtle Willis , and Marjorie Chambers (All of California); 4 brother in-laws, 2 sister in-laws (special thanks to Geraldine Driscol for being so devoted) a host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins, and church family; Special friends Kevin Wilson and James Beaumont.
