Vivian Palmore Wright

Vivian Palmore Wright 59, a resident of Wetumpka, A, transitioned January 1, 2023, Funeral service will be January 7, 2023, at Pilgram Rest Baptist Church at 11:00a.m. burial to follow at St. James Family Worship Center Cemetery Wetumpka, Alabama. Vivian Dianne “Dottie” Palmore- Wright was born June 20, 1963, in Tuskegee, AL to Mary Ann Palmore Hill, the late Tommy McDowell. Vivian was raised by the late, devoted, and loving father Roosevelt Hill. Vivian planted her seeds with Christ at an early age at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Those seeds sprouted to fruition in St. James Baptist Missionary Church then to Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Dottie graduated with the Class of 1981, from Wetumpka High. Dottie was known all over Elmore, Montgomery, Autauga, Coosa, Lowndes, and Lee County as “Lady Inspiration” with 1250 WAPZ Gospel Radio station in Wetumpka, AL from September 1998 until WAPZ doors closed March 2011. Dottie met many different politicians and famous gospel singers during her tenure at WAPZ radio. She also gained many friends and supporters throughout life while being on the radio airwaves for over 12 years. Dottie was also known as a Mistress of Ceremony (MC) for many different Gospel concerts in Elmore, Montgomery Metro Area, Coosa, Lowndes, and Lee County. She was preceded in death by her father Roosevelt Hill, loving grandmother Geneva Palmore Mason, nephew Michael Hill, and brother Eddie Powell Dottie leaves to cherish a loving and devoted husband of 35 years Joseph Wright; three children, Krystle Wright of Wetumpka, AL; Shavonda Wright of Lithonia, Ga, and Courtney Wright of Snellville, Ga; five grandchildren, Mikal Wright, Kyndal Wright, Kailyn Wright, Jeremiah Wright, and Sydney Wright; a loving mother, Mary Ann Hill of Wetumpka, AL; two loving sisters, Rosetta Albritton of Wetumpka, AL and Vera Nelson of Montgomery, AL; two brothers, Willie James (Lola) Mayes of Deatsville, AL and Paul (Latangela) Nelson of Montgomery, AL; a special mother-in-law, Ilois Webster of Wetumpka, AL; a special niece, Cynteria Albritton of Wetumpka, AL; two aunts, Dora Harris and Phyllis Sankey both of Montgomery, AL; one uncle, George McCall of Montgomery, AL; six special friends: Vivian Ware, Elnora Rose, Sheron Larkin, Juanita Bozeman, Joyce Hall, Janet Murphy; a god daughter Jecole Penick and Paris Bowman; two god grandchildren Jabari Bowman and Amari Taylor; special family friend, Quanardo Thomas; four sisters-in-law, Patricia Eldridge, Cheryl (Richard) McGuffie, Daphne Settles and Marilyn (Charles) Palmore; three brothers-in-law: Brian (Clara) Wright, Vincent and Steven Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends with Hillside Memorial & Gardens directing.
